This is a generally level, town centre, brownfield redevelopment site. Outline planning permission was granted 19 August 2025 for 19 dwellings; details of the appearance, landscaping, layout and scale of the development will need to be submitted under a reserved matters application. The site extends we understand to c. 0.49ha/1.21 acres and is located to the south of North Street, Okehampton, with vehicular and pedestrian access from North Street. A second pedestrian access via an existing right of way on the western edge of the site (beside the public library) provides a convenient level access leading to North Street and the town centre shops and facilities. Previously the site benefitted from planning permission won on appeal for a 60 bed care home facility, this permission has lapsed. A small part of the site is inside a Conservation Area on the west boundary. The site is bordered in the main by terraced residential dwellings beyond established boundaries.
